Buttermilk Donuts



1 beaten eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1-1/2 tablespoons melted butter
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt

Preheat lard to 375 deg F. Lard should be enough so that donut will float when cooking without touching the bottom.
Mix wet ingredients. Mix dry ingredients together.
Mix them together until soft dough forms.
Transfer dough to a well-floured surface and knead.
Use rolling pin to flatten to about 1/4 inch thick.
Grease and flour your donut cutter before cutting.
Deep fry until well browned.
Let drip on rack liked with paper towel.
Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
