Thanks to Mely for these Puto Molds!
I came home very tired from work today, and I still have to go to work early tomorrow morning, then I have the weekend off, and I will be able to update my blog and do some bloghopping.
Mely had told me about her sending these puto molds to me and I have been waiting excitingly for them.
I finally got them today! They were like mini muffin cups! But the good thing about these (in contrast to muffin cups) is that they do not have ridges, so clean up (and brushing with butter) will be much easier!
Thanks, Mely!!! Like you said, I will put these puto molds to good use...you can count on me for that!
Mely is a very good cook and has got lots of excellent recipes in her food blog.
For those who might be interested to purchase puto molds, the tartlet pans on the right will probably do (they are like shorter versions of muffin cups without the ridges).

those look like the ones that we have here at home ... and am hungry for some puto right now! :)
Are those stainless puto moulds? Where did you get it?
Those are what I need :D I am trying to make puto but I use muffin cups na lang lol...
I'd love to know where to get these as well! Regular muffin cups are too huge and mini-muffin pans don't fit in my steamer.
I want those too! Where in Cali did she find them? I checked Tatak Pinoy's website (Los Angeles) I did not see any. I had asked my friend in Montalban to buy me some. She already got them but I told her to just hold on until she comes back to visit us. That will be in Dec. 2009. However, she said it is so cheap!
Ebie,
Then you will just have to be patient and wait, haha! I hope they get to you soon enough so you can use them for Christmas. I am guessing the Cali friend also got them from the Philippines.
Hi Manang,
Good for you.. I hope I can buy those hear. I have 1 box of puto mix expiring soon and only those small puto tins can fit in my steamer.
Would metal portion cups work? I've seen these in Walmart. When I saw these molds instantly thought of them. Not exactly same size, by your description, I think they're a little bigger. Hmmm, maybe the restaurant supply store would have different sizes. Any thoughts on this?
Hi Anonymous,
I think I know what you are talking about. Just when Mely told me she was gonna give these to me, I had bought several (I hoarded) of those mini metal cups (I think they are for condiments, best for dipping, like lobsters into melted butter). These molds are much smaller (bite-size puto). But I was thinking those metall cups from walmart would be very good size.
Manay, can I use silicone condiment bowl for steaming puto? from Michigan
I really like that colorful mold pan for puto Tell me were i can buy that or maybe I ask my sister to buy me this in Cebu
